Which Is Better, Tempered Glass Screen Protector or Paper-Like Film?

The choice between tempered glass screen protector and paper-like film depends largely on what you're using it for.

If you draw more than five hours a day, and the iPad has become the main productivity tool, it's better to put on a paper-like film.

If watching dramas, playing games, and reading books take up more time every day, it's better to have a tempered glass screen protector.

If you want to do both, you can choose the recently released removable magnetic film.

Tempered Glass Screen Protector

Tempered glass screen protector: the main thing is to provide very good clarity, and at the same time, it can also increase the strength of the screen to prevent the more serious scuffing. The main function of the tempered glass screen protector is actually to prevent scratches. Because of its hard material, the tempered glass screen protector can effectively resist scratches and collisions in daily use, protecting the screen from damage. Of course, if it's just anti-scratch, picking an inexpensive one will be enough to satisfy.

If you have other needs, such as anti-blue light eye protection, anti-glare, reflectiveness, a more durable anti-fingerprint effect, etc., you can also choose a slightly more expensive tempered film. Tempered film provides very high light transmittance; the screen display colors and details are clearly visible, suitable for watching videos, playing games, and reading.

Paper-like iPad Film

This type of paper film is mainly for professionals, providing them with a precise touch of paper. For example, notetakers or illustrators. Some people say that the clarity of the tablet will be significantly reduced after applying the paper-like film, and it will hurt the pencil's nib. But I think that if the main function is to draw, the reduced clarity will have no effect.

Paper-like film was created to do so, so even if not the best visual cleaning effect, the texture of drawing and writing is unmatched by the tempered film. Even if the paper-like film is not as high-definition as the tempered glass screen protector, it will not have poor visual effect, and under the premise of drawing needs, the paper-like film is the most suitable.

Of course, one problem with paper-like film is that it can wear out the nib when writing. The wear cycle varies from three to six months depending on how hard you write and draw. At the same time, the paper-like film should also feel good; otherwise, it will either slip or have too much friction, which makes the experience of using it very poor. So it's best to buy a moderately priced paper-like film that can be replaced for a long time; if well maintained, a film can be used for more than a year.

Magnetic Paper-like iPad Film

Magnetic paper-like film can be used in conjunction with either a bare screen or a tempered glass screen protector. It is convenient to remove when not in use, providing a combination of high definition and a paper-like feel. When you need to attend meetings, take notes, or do recordings, simply apply it for that paper-like experience. If you want to play games or watch movies, you can easily remove the film to restore the screen’s clarity.
